i suck at blogging

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 @ 10:19am

so one of the big things going on with me right now is that we are getting most of the downstairs (wherever there is carpet) of our house, refloored… the tile stays. so that means anything and everything that’s on the carpeted area needs to be moved onto the tile. the family room and kitchen look like storerooms and so were using that as an excuse to eat out. :P we still have a few things left to move before the floor guys come tomorrow morning.

i’m looking forward to next week when all the crappy carpet will be gone and we’ll have shiny new floors. :) (and then i can get started on my craft room! :-bd )

so it would appear that my luck has run out

…and parking enforcement has finally caught up with me.

earlier this week, i had spent the entire day parked on campus WITHOUT a permit because i had moved it to my other car and then forgot to move it back. if i had noticed it in the morning, i could have just asked for a temporary permit, but i didn’t even realize it until the end of the day!! i always park head out (= more obvious if i don’t have a permit) and luckily, i didn’t get a ticket. %%-

later on, i went to go pick up some cupcakes, and parked my car in a metered lot. you’re supposed to note your space number, then pay for the space at an automated machine (that by the way takes credit card… gotta love beverly hills). stupid me, i put the wrong number and paid for someone else’s parking space. i realized when i got back to my car that the number on my receipt was not the same as the number of my parking space. #-o

so, after the laker game, we got back to the car and was greeted by a white envelope and slip timestamped 10:12p which was only a few minutes before we got there… and it wasn’t even for PARKING. it was because i don’t have a front license plate. UGH… REALLY?!?! X( unfortunately, i got my car from the dealer without a license plate mount on the front, and was not about to drill holes myself into my lexus. WTF is parking enforcement doing driving around at 10:00? :cens: meters stop running at 6:00. i guess the city is so hard up for cash that they have to LOOK for dumbest reasons to give tickets out.

(…lack of it)

i decided to cut my hair before the new year. it used to be down to my waist, and now it’s a few inches below my shoulders. when the lady was done, there was more hair on the floor than there was on my head! needless to say, my head feels a lot lighter. :)

my long hair was sort of my “trademark”… i’m a little sad it’s gone, but hey, it’ll grow back.

when it rains, it pours…

Tuesday, February 02, 2010 @ 09:14pm

UGH... WHY ME???

so, yeah, this has been a rough couple of weeks with regards to driving and all that…

so i was driving down wilshire, i hit a pothole, and my “low pressure” indicator turned on almost immediately. (“LOW pressure?” “NO pressure” would’ve been more accurate.) as it turns out, the passenger side front tire had a slit in it that was about 1″ long. there was no patching that…

ugh… got into a car accident

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 @ 05:05pm

i was driving down wilshire, when a woman decided to cross the street, and so i stopped for her. a car on the perpendicular street crossed the intersection (no traffic lights) and hit the back of my car. the impact was not immediately after i stopped, so i assumed that he wanted to cross the intersection and overestimated the amount of room he had. we both pulled over. i walked around to the back of the car to inspect the damage. the corner of the bumper on the driver’s side was scraped, and the casing of the light was cracked, but that was about it. from the THUD, i had expected the damage to be worse.

he crossed the street over to where i was and gave me his information. it seemed that english wasn’t his first language. there wasn’t much conversation going on, aside from things like “driver’s license?” as we were heading to our cars, he asked me “why did you stop?” i explained to him that i HAD TO stop because a woman was crossing the street. (so apparently, he didn’t see this woman! o_O ) if i hadn’t stopped, she might’ve ended up on my hood!

what i DON’T understand about this (…) woman is that in weather conditions with poor visibility, WHY would you cross the street (with no traffic lights) when there was a car approaching?! :-/ thankfully my scraped bumper and cracked light casing was the extent of the damage, and that no one was hurt.

disney on ice

Saturday, December 19, 2009 @ 09:45am

we went to see disney on ice again. it was… interesting. at least the kids had fun (for the first half hour of it, anyway. (:| after the cars segment, they started running around and screaming.) i wish they would change the format so that there were four separate acts. i thought the way they tried to weave everything together was a bit cheesy.

what i noticed about these shows is that they are not for people who watch skating; they are for people who like seeing disney characters. people who watch skating would cheer when someone lands a jump. these people cheered when a character they happened to like came out on the ice. :-/

only 26 more days until nationals:-<
